Van Woerden has written several books: true stories with a social dimension. He worked undercover in elderly care, reconstructed the first Columbine-inspired shooting incident in the Netherlands through the eyes of the victims, and followed a Dutch family who found a stranger in their garden and wanted to give him a better life. He has been nominated for multiple national awards for both his journalistic work and his books.
In his drawings and paintings, Van Woerden seeks beauty and humor—counterbalances to the heavy topics he writes about. Every day, he walks with his dog Mec through the forests of Le Berry: the peace, calm, and beauty of the countryside, the woods, and the wild nature are a major source of inspiration.
